In a move aimed at mitigating the hardships of the global food crisis, Egypt has announced plans to join forces with its neighbour Sudan to grow wheat together.

China’s earthquake caused massive losses to agriculture but will not trigger major food shortages or price hikes, the vice minister of agriculture said Saturday.
